Components of a Gifted Evaluation:
There are three components that must be met in order to qualify for special instructional programs. They are as follows:
- First, the child demonstrates a need for the gifted program.
- Second, the child exhibits the majority of gifted student characteristics according to either a standard scale or checklist.
- Third, the student is of superior intelligence and performs two standard deviations above the mean (130 or higher) on an individually administered intelligence test.
